Attractions of Sentosa
Sentosa is a popular off island resort that is perfect for active and fun loving individuals. It offers a number of attractions such as museums and rides and many other facilities to provide a number of different and enjoyable experiences, entertainment and recreation to visitors.
The Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom is a landscaped garden that houses around 15,000 or more live free flying butterflies which represent about 50 species or more. It is enclosed in a cool outdoor conservatory. The butterflies found in this enclosure ranges from the 1 inch (25 millimetre) Eurema sari to the 6 inch (150 millimetre) Papilio iswara. The Insect Kingdom houses about 3,000 species of rare insects around the world.
The Tiger Sky Tower is a free standing observation tower that has a height of 430 feet (131 metre) above sea level and 360 feet (110 metres) above ground. It provides visitors with a panoramic view of the island resort of Sentosa, the country, and other Southern Islands of Asia. An enormous 37 metre tall replica Merlion Statue houses 2 viewing balconies and 1 souvenir shop.
The Songs of the Sea is a show that was designed by Yves Pepin. It was officially started on March 26, 2007 as a replacement for the world famous Magical Sentosa show. The show runs twice during the night every evening and features water jets, pyrotechnic and projected displays, fame bursts, laser shows and synchronized acting to provide visitors with a great and amazing show.
Another attraction is the Underwater World and Dolphin Lagoon which is an oceanarium that is located on the western part of the island resort which houses different marine animals. Sentosa CineBlast is currently the country’s sole cinematic ride. It opened in June 2007 as a replacement attraction for Cinemania which was the only one of its kind in the country. It takes visitors on an extreme virtual 4 dimensional log ride that can be a treat for the senses.
Sentosa 4D Magix is a cinematic attraction that uses the same technology that the CineBlast currently ultilizes. Another attraction is the Fort Siloso which is a well preserved British Fort. Other attractions include the MegaZip Adventure Park, Azzura Beach Club, Sentosa Luge and Skyride, Wave House Sentosa and iFly Singapore that are perfect for fun loving and adventurous individuals.
